Yes it's SPAM. About 150 per day.
It has reduced in numbers since I haven't been posting or commenting but they are still coming through.
Not sure why me - I don't have many followers and I don't get many hits. At one time I was looking at my stats, so excited to see how many people had clicked onto my site and then I realized - Spammers ! Darn Them!
Any tips or hints?
Will they still find me if I discontinue the Comments section?
Apparently the "report as spam' button doesn't do a darn thing.
To try to make myself feel better I just read a bunch of Spam Poems on http://www.satirewire.com/features/poetry_spam/poetryintro.shtml
and hey! guess what? I am not alone in this Spam attack.
grrrrr
Meantime in our household.
It's winter. Still.
Son #2 broke his arm - Snowboarding Rail.
I got the call "mom, whats Adams medical number" and then the phone went dead.
WHAT??? panic, cold sweats, rubber knees.
What a relief that it was only a broken arm.
Son #1 thinks winter will end and bought himself a motorcycle.
sigh.
I think they are trying to kill me.

What a terrible phone call to receive! Unfortunately, I don't know anything about stopping spammers.
Would it help to take your email address off your blog profile? I don't know.
Is the spam going on your blog or email?
If you change your settings to 'approve' comments first...that will keep it from being posted on the blog. You will of course get all the emails and then have to approve each one prior to them going on your blog.
For some reason, my spam folder catches all the bad stuff. Good luck.
Sorry about the broken arm...and oh.my.lord. the motorcycle scares the bejeesus out of me!
Of the three concerns, I think the spam may be the least dangerous, according to the pictures.
Though spam can be pervasive. I used to get a lot, but now, not very often. Of course, I use comment moderation on my blogs, and have very active spam filters for my e-mail.
I enjoy your pictures. and your writing.
