Exploding Heads

This rhino reminds me of a birthday party I was preparing for Adam.

My boys were big fans of themed parties.
A papier mache  head, fashioned after the gorilla  from the Tarzan  movie, was to be the pinata.

We all sat around the crafting table set up in the kitchen meticulously applying heavily glued strips of newsprint to a blown up balloon.

About 8 minutes in, the balloon exploded, and papier mache and glue was on us, the floor, the cupboards, the ceiling.  Everywhere.

I was astonished at the force at which it blew.  We all shrieked and then were silent.

This  is one memory that doesn't mellow over time.

I read somewhere that everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don’t have film.  For this one I have film.

I will not be making a papier mache rhino.

I'm sorry for laughing but you did take a sorry situation and make it funny. It's you fault for making me laugh.
